I've been a fan for a long time. I went to the benefit concert at MIT the October after Katrina and I was very moved by your losses and forced displacement. I'm currently spearheading a fundraiser to help rebuild housing in New Orleans. We're working through Common Ground. DOWN IN LOUISIANA is one of my favorite of all the SONNY LANDRETH albums. It has such an original flavor. All the musicans on this album were some of the finest I've ever heard. Mike Binet on drums and Mel Melton on harp and vocals are not currently playing with Sonny Landreth and Dave Ranson. They had a unique blend and creative response while working together. I also want to mention that this version of CONGO SQUARE is the original; and STILL the BEST. This is the album that started it all for SONNY LANDRETH; I can certainly see why.

I had the pleasure and honour of seeing Marva at a club in N.O.about 12 years ago. It was an awe inspiring performance that my wife and I still talk about to this day.
